Bio of Rev. Michael Boykin “The Prince of Gospel”
& The Mighty Voices
Musical gifts touched this young man from Clinton, NC at the early age of two.
Not only can he sing, but he is also gifted on keyboards, drums and knowledgeable bout
other instruments. With exposure of gospel music all around his life, he developed the
skills of writing and composing songs. One of his first experiences with professional
gospel music was as the keyboardist for national recording artist, Keith “Wonderboy”
Johnson. However, after years of being a fan and playing for the opportunity, on March
29, 1998, God blessed him to join the stage as keyboard player and second lead singer
with his mentor, the late Rev. Howard “Slim” Hunt and the Supreme Angels. His
musical talents grew as well as his ability to touch the hearts of the audience. His
charm and demeanor led him to be known as “The Prince of Gospel.” He is the one
and only, Michael L. Boykin!!!

After the passing of Rev. Howard Hunt, Michael was led to start his own group,
The Mighty Voices of Clinton, NC. This group often pays the respect to Rev. Hunt with
their versions of several songs pinned by him such as “If I’m Too High, Lord” and “The
Lord Is Blessing Me.” In March of 2016, Michael re-joined the Legendary Supreme
Angels as the Lead Singer until March of 2019. Michael has blessed to host “The
Prince of Gospel Show” aired on May 15, 2015, at WCLN (1170AM) on Sundays for the
pass 13years. Such knowledge and experience in the music industry has enabled
